About MEghan
For as long as I can remember, I have been active. A lot of what I have learned about nutrition has been through trial & error and experimentation on myself (and I have had some great mentors along the way!). I am passionate about performing at my best & helping others do the same. I am here to help you optimize your nutrition to match your unique lifestyle and athletic goals. I have competed in CrossFit at a regional and national level and I have learned so much over the last couple of years working with various coaches & mentors. Prior to my competitive pursuits I have dabbled in pretty much every sport, but have spent the most time competing in long distance running, cycling, triathlon, weightlifting and CrossFit. I quickly learned that the nutritional needs to support these activities all look completely different, especially as I have gotten older. My philosophy around food & nutrition is that quality matters just as much quantity. I emphasize eating real, whole, high quality food while dialing in macronutrient levels. I also believe in maintaining a balance – this should be fun! |
About cameron
I have been an athlete or within a sports setting all of my life. I have 2 dogs. I love hunting, hiking, fishing, and anything else involving the outdoors. I love playing and going to sporting events. I try my best to support local businesses and farms by buying local food produce whenever possible. My love for sports and fitness led me to be very competitive and look for any advantages I could gain against my competition. Once high school came around I realized that it would take dedication on many different fronts to become the athlete I wanted to be. This is where my love for nutrition began to blossom. I realized that if I could use the most efficient fuel for my body, I would be able to compete at my peak performance. From then on I was researching nutrition on the internet (which gave me great information, but also terrible information) until I arrived at NC State University. After getting my B.S and M.S (Meredith College) in Nutrition Science, I went on to complete my Dietetic Internship at Lenoir-Rhyne University. After passing my RD exam I've started to work with the general public within a variety of age ranges and athletic backgrounds to help them reach their weight loss goals. During this process my main goal is to educate them on proper eating habits, realistic expectations of weight loss, and reestablish a proper relationship with food so the entire process is much more sustainable long-term. My main goal when working with clients is to educate them on proper nutrition in regards to their individual needs. This allows us to set realistic and attainable goals for each client we work with. I believe that "cookie cutter" nutrition/fitness programs that don't take into account the unique characteristics each individual has can be very frustrating for both coach and client and usually leads to minimal results. I believe that establishing a great relationship and open communication with clients will lead to great results both mentally and physically. This allows the client to enjoy the process of getting to their goals just as much as the end result. |
